Before her operation, Bella had been living with the discomfort and distress of having massive amounts of skin sagging on her midsection. “My tummy was sort of big,” she explains, pointing out how she had to wear oversized clothes just to conceal her condition. To make matters worse, she says infection had began to set in on the folds of her stomach skin.

Aside from the efficiency and the high level of experience, Bella is also all praises for the genuine warmth and concern shown by the hospital staff. From concerns about her comfort up to little things like how she was enjoying her food, her nurses and the other hospital staff were always ready to make things easier and better.
She narrates: “The staff is not only lovely to look at but they are beautiful inside. If they come in and I need a hand, they don’t hesitate. Even to help me get on and off the bed, I didn’t need to be helped too often but when I did, they were always there. And if you ring the bell, in New Zealand someone might come in a few minutes, but here, a voice immediately says, ‘How can I help you’ and they are right here.”

As for her surgeon, Bella feels lucky to have someone who isn’t only skilled but one who also truly understood what she was going through. From the initial consultation up to the post-surgery check-ups, she was always kept completely informed about what was going on and was constantly reassured that everything was going to be fine. And indeed, everything went according to plan. She encountered no major problems and her recovery period was as smooth as she could hope for.
