It can be a bit difficult when you are all alone in a foreign country so I will like to thank Destination Beauty for all their help before and during my hospital stay
The neck can be one of the most sensuous – and sensitive – parts of your body. Unfortunately, any number of things can ruin how it looks and feels to you. Aging can cause the skin to sag and make the jaw line appear jowly and extreme weight loss can also leave a considerable amount of excess skin hanging loosely around your neck area. There are also those who suffer from retrognathia where the jaw recedes that makes it appear that a person has no chin or jaw line. The good news is, there is one surgical procedure that corrects all these conditions – neck lift surgery.

Is A Neck Lift Right The Right Choice For You?
If you are an adult, unhappy with the appearance of your neck, of good general health, have a thorough understanding about the procedure, and have realistic expectations about the results, then you’re an ideal candidate for neck lift surgery.
During consultation, your surgeon will determine for sure if you are fit to undergo operation. Your medical history will be checked to see if there are risk factors and pre-existing health conditions that would pose problems later on.
Remember that a neck lift does not rejuvenate the facial area. It may be performed as an individual procedure or in conjunction with other surgeries such as face lift and chin augmentation for a complete facial makeover.

If you’re under medication or taking vitamins and other supplements, you will most likely be asked to regulate or completely refrain from taking these. If you are a smoker, you will be asked to completely stop at least two weeks before your operation. Same goes for alcoholic beverages.
Sticking to a sensible diet and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are also important in preparing for your neck lift.
How The Neck Lift In Thailand Is Performed
The neck lift is actually a combination of two procedures. The first one is called cervicoplasty which is done to remove excess skin. The other one is platysmaplasty where neck muscles are removed or repositioned.
During cervicoplasty, two incisions are made either behind or under the ear. When platysmaplasty is also done, a small incision is made under the chin. Sections of your skin are trimmed, lifted into place and sutured. A section of fat and muscle is then removed and the ends are sutured together at the front section of the neck.
Depending on the extent of the area to be treated, the surgery takes about to three hours to complete. If it is done in combination with other procedures, it can take longer. You will be under general anesthetic which means you will be asleep and not feel pain during the duration of your neck lift. You will be required to stay an additional night at the hospital after the surgery.
What You Can Expect After Your Neck Lift
There are certain side effects associated with any cosmetic surgery procedure, although these are usually minor and temporary. For a few days after your neck lift operation, you will experience swelling, bruising and soreness. You may also feel tired easily. These discomforts can be managed by medication prescribed by your surgeon.
Recovery time varies from person to person although the average time is three to four weeks. During this time, you should avoid strenuous activities, lifting heavy objects, and subjecting your neck to rough contact.

Though swelling usually takes a few weeks to subside, you should be able to start seeing the results within the first week after surgery. With proper care and a commitment to stay in shape, you can enjoy the outcome of your neck lift for up to ten years.
The Possible Risks & Limitations Of A Neck Lift
Neck lift surgery is generally considered safe and highly effective. But as with any procedure that involves anesthetic, there is always the possibility of complications. Allergic reaction, infection, hematoma, and nerve injury are some of the problems that may occur. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
