Are You A Candidate for Endoscopic Breast Augmentation?

Technically, adult woman of any age can have breast augmentation surgery. However, it’s recommended for you to wait until your breasts have fully developed before considering the procedure. As well, if you’re breastfeeding then it’s also advisable to wait until after you’re done.  Breast Implants themselves won’t interfere with the process of nursing once they’ve been implanted, but it’s just not a good idea to have the procedure done while you’re still going through the process.

Aside from those specific concerns, you need to be generally healthy to be considered for operation. You should also be within your ideal weight range and shouldn’t have excessive amounts of loose skin around the chest area.  Of course being a good candidate also means being mentally prepared for the procedure and having reasonable, informed expectations about the probable and possible results of the surgery.  That’s a lot, but don’t worry, we’ll help you out :)

What Happens During Surgery in Thailand?

During an Endoscopic Breast Augmentation procedure, a small incision is made, usually in your armpit or navel. Your surgeon uses this incision to insert an endoscope (a long, narrow tube with a tiny, lighted camera attached to its end) and any other surgical devices he uses.

Your surgeon will perform the operation by manipulating instruments remotely while monitoring what’s happening through a video displayed on a screen. This may sound a little strange, but in fact it’s a fantastic way to make sure you have the most precise results possible.  Since your surgeon is able to see the area on which the surgery is performed, he is better able to place the implant and create a pocket that will minimize capsular contracture. All of this enables him to produce more natural-looking results that have an even smaller chance of causing you any problems.

If the idea of a camera makes you a little uneasy, just keep in mind that endoscopic surgeries (also called ‘keyhole surgery’) are used extensively throughout the world in different areas of the body, so it’s a safe and accepted technique for increasing the precision of the surgery and giving the surgeon greater awareness of your breasts.

Pros and Cons of Endoscopic Breast Augmentation

One of the biggest advantages of Endoscopic Breast Augmentation is the precision that the surgeon can use in performing the prcoedure.  The ability to see inside your breast completely while performing the surgery allows him now only to minimize trauma to the body while making the incision and inserting the implant, but also to carve out a more precise pocket for the implant to rest in.  Once the surgeon is done with the insertion, he’ll close the incision and you’ll begin to enjoy the other advantages of Endoscopic Breast Augmentation – recovery time is much shorter compared to conventional Breast Augmentations and there’s a decreased chance of any complications, including capsular contracture, which is one of the primary concerns.

The only downsides of Endoscopic Breast Augmentation are that it’s a little pricier and it’s not available everywhere, so you’ll need to check with us on cost and availability!

Risks & Complications of Endoscopic Breast Augmentation

Endoscopic Breast Augmentation Surgery is generally considered safer even than conventional Breast Augmentation, but as with any other surgical procedure it carries the possibility of certain hazards – something you should be aware of in making your decision. Surgery is surgery anywhere in the world and the same basic risks & complications apply to the same prcoedure everywhere, in Australia, The UK, The US or anywhere the same procedure is performed.  Of course, these risks and complications are more likely to occur in patients with a compromised immune system, bleeding disorders, or conditions that interfere with wound healing, so be sure to note these during your FREE at-home consultation as you work through the pre-surgery process with us.

You will receive some more detailed information (and always be sure to ask any questions you don’t feel have been answered), but some of the general symptoms of complications include infection, bleeding and hematoma formation as well as capsular contracture and altered nipple sensation.

Closely following your surgeon’s orders before and after surgery is helpful in preventing such complications from setting in and in the large majority of cases no complications arise, but if they do you should be aware of what to look for.
